i fucking hate people who talk about finding “the one”

do you honestly believe that there’s one special person for you, and if it doesn’t work out with someone it just wasn’t “meant to be”? nobody is “perfect for you” because nobody is perfect. it’s going to take work, and at times it will make you feel like you should leave. whether you choose to make it work is what determines whether it will work. 

i just can’t believe how many people i meet who manage to be alive for 25+ years and retain this mentality, that if they find this certain person everything will be effortless and they’ll live happily ever after. they ruin their fucking lives looking for this person who requires no maintenance and no compromise whatsoever, so that they can’t blame themselves if it doesn’t work. instead of learning how to better maintain a relationship in the future, they blame the whole fucking world for their loneliness. 

“the one”. fucking people. people who use concepts like “destiny” and “god” are ruining the world. 

i’m sorry, i didn’t realize i had that much pent-up angst. just listening to an acquaintance whining made me wanna punch him in the face.
